TAYLOR CLARK ART GALLERY: Octavo Bird Edition
The Octavo Edition of the Birds of America were made between 1840 and 1870. They are hand-colored lithographs and most were printed in Philadelphia by the J. T. Bowen firm. Audubon used the camera lucida method for reducing the birds from their original size. The condition of the prints vary, so please contact the gallery for more specific information.
