TAYLOR CLARK ART GALLERY: Artist Collection: Angela Gregory

Born in New Orleans, Angela Gregory(1903-1990) graduated from Newcomb College in 1925 and received a scholarship to study art at Parson's School of Design in Paris. While in Paris she studied sculpture with Antoine Bourdelle, the protege of Auguste Rodin. Upon returning to New Orleans, she was commissioned for numerous projects including the Criminal Courts Building in New Orleans and the State Capitol Building in Baton Rouge. She also created the Bienville Monument commemorating the founding of New Orleans.
